Woman and child taken to hospital after two-car crash in Wednesbury left vehicle on its roof

A woman and a child have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Wednesbury.

The crash took place on Manor Road in Wednesbury shortly after 3.50pm yesterday (Tuesday, March 24).

Two cars were involved in a collision on the busy Black Country road.

Images shared on Facebook of the scene show one vehicle on its roof and the other car on its side.

Part of a brick wall on the pavement on one side of the road is also shown to be damaged.

Debris and glass were scattered over the road.

Emergency services attended the scene and police taped off the road.

A woman and a child were taken to hospital for treatment but their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

West Midlands Police said: "Shortly after 3.50pm yesterday (Tuesday) we were called to a two-vehicle collision on Manor Road, Wednesbury.

"Two people were taken to hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars in Wednesbury at 3.54pm, yesterday, and sent an ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene. 

"On arrival, crews found a woman and a child. Both were treated for minor injuries before being conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital."
