Three people injured after two-car crash on Wednesbury road

Three people were taken to hospital following a two-car crash which left a busy Wednesbury Road closed for some time.

The collision happened at High Bullen, at the junction of Church Hill and Walsall Street, with West Midlands Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Fire Service all called to the scene after the collision, which happened at around 6.25pm yesterday. 

One man was treated for serious injuries, while the other two were treated for potentially serious injuries, with all three subsequently taken to Walsall Manor Hospital for further treatment.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Walsall Street and Church Hill in Wednesbury at 6.26pm and sent three ambulances, a paramedic officer and a critical care paramedic to the scene.

"On arrival, crews found two cars had been involved in a collision and there were three patients, all men.

"The first man was treated for serious injuries and the other two were treated by ambulance staff for potentially serious injuries before they were all conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital."

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were alerted at 6.32pm on Monday to a road traffic collision involving two cars.

"Two fire engines attended, the first arriving within three minutes of being mobilised.

"Firefighters provided first aid and trauma care at the scene, working alongside ambulance colleagues.

"We understand that three men were taken to hospital by ambulance."

West Midlands Police have been contacted for a comment.
