Gurkirat Singh, from the town, was walking with his family when he crossed the road from between parked cars into the path of the number 226 bus in Tipton High Street shortly before 5pm on December 6 2024. Despite the efforts of emergency crews he later died from head and chest injuries.

At the inquest held last November Mr Siddique recorded a conclusion that the youngster died due to a road traffic collision.

Following the hearing he wrote to Sandwell Council to ask whether there had been other incidents on the same carriageway, and he recommended improvements to lighting in the vicinity, road markings and road safety measures in his prevention of future deaths report relating to Gurkirat's case.

In the report which has now been published Mr Siddique stated: "My concern is that in the last five years there have been six incidents including this fatality on this stretch of road and within half a mile approaching the  roundabout.
