Man arrested after teenager sexually assaulted in Tipton
A man has been arrested after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in a Black Country town.
Officers from West Midlands Police said the girl was attacked on Monday between 10am and 11.30am on the canal near Groveland Road in Tipton.
Following several lines of enquiry including a public appeal for information, police said they arrested a 37-year-old man on Tuesday afternoon.
He remains in police custody on suspicion of sexual assault.
"Our investigation is continuing and anyone with information or footage from the area should call us on 101 quoting crime reference number 20/133979/26," added a spokesperson.
