Man treated for serious injuries after being shot in the leg on main Smethwick road
A man was treated for 'serious injuries' at the scene of an shooting in Smethwick in the early hours of this morning (March 11).
Police have arrested three men after a man was shot in the leg on Bearwood Road, Smethwick.
Paramedics say they arrived at the scene on Bearwood Road, Smethwick at around 1.32am and found the 19-year-old man with serious injuries.
He was treated at the scene by two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic before being transported to hospital.
Police are now appealing for information as they continue to investigate the incident.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We have arrested three men after a man was shot in the leg in Smethwick. We were called after a man was shot on Bearwood Road, Smethwick, at around 1.30am today.
"A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries, where he remains. Officers carrying out fast-track enquiries to establish what exactly happened, and arrested three men on suspicion of violent disorder.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of an incident on Bearwood Road in Smethwick at 1.32am and sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic to the scene.
"On arrival, crews found a man who they treated for serious injuries before conveying him under emergency driving conditions to hospital."
Bus routes were diverted away from the scene in the early hours of the morning. Transport for West Midlands added: "Due to ongoing disruption, the following @NXWestMidlands bus services are currently impacted: 11A, 11C, 48, 49, 82." A
