It had been the wish of seven-year-old palliative care patient Amelia Kolpa to break a record for the most birthday cards to be received on a birthday on her eighth birthday on Tuesday.

Amelia, from Rowley Regis, has been in and out of hospital since the age of two and a half with neuroblastoma and had set a target of 8,000 cards for her birthday.

Now, ahead of the big day, her family have revealed that more than 200,000 cards have been collected from all over the community, including more than 60,000 from the Hells Angels, with more still coming in.

Her aunt Charmaine Grace said the family had been blown away by the response and offered thanks to everyone who had taken the time to send Amelia a card.

She said: "We can't thank you all enough as it's not only made Amelia's dream come true, but it's also helped to tell people about Neuroblastoma and actually understand what it is through Amelia's story.

"It's getting her story and the cancer the recognition and it has honestly been the most amazing thing, so we really can't say thank you enough times, it's amazing."

Matt Lem, also known as Lemmy, is a member of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club and has been campaigning to get hundreds of bikers to help deliver 60,000 cards to Amelia Kolpa for her 8th birthday. February 5 2026.
