Plea to demolish crime-plagued pub in Oldbury as 34 new homes planned
The owner of a crime-plagued former pub which closed a year ago wants to demolish the building ahead of redevelopment.
The Perry Hill Tavern, in Perry Hill Road, Oldbury, closed in June last year after being hit by falling trade.
Developers are now drawing up plans to build 34 homes on the 1.1-acre site, but in the meantime its owner, Hardip Singh, is seeking permission to demolish the empty building, saying it has become a magnet for criminal activity.
A statement issued on behalf of Mr Singh said council officers had agreed in principle to his plans for 34 homes to be built on the site.
It said Mr Singh intended to submit detailed plans in due course.
