Teenager taken to hospital after being hit by car in Oldbury
A teenage pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car on the A4123 Wolverhampton Road in Oldbury.
Emergency services were called to Wolverhampton Road near the Pound Road junction at 7.54am following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
Upon arrival they found a teenage boy with injuries that were deemed not serious, and took him to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.
The West Midlands Roads X account reported a 'major disruption' in Oldbury in a post shortly after 9am on Wednesday, October 1, and said it had resulted in congestion on the approach to Wolverhampton Road and the surrounding roads.
However, an update posted shortly before 10am confirmed the road had been cleared and traffic is now flowing normally.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Services said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian on Wolverhampton Road at 7.54am, one ambulance attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient, a teenage male, who was the pedestrian. He was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital."
West Midlands Police have been approached for comment.
