Woman seriously injured in road traffic collision in Oldbury

A woman has been taken to a major trauma centre after sustaining potentially life-threatening injuries in a road traffic collision in Oldbury this morning.

Two passing ambulances came across the incident on the A4123 Wolverhampton Road near Albert Road junction in Oldbury where a bystander reported to crews that a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a vehicle.

A MERIT trauma team was also sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The pedestrian, a woman, was found to be in a critical condition upon assessment.

"The team worked together to administer trauma care to stabilise her condition before she was conveyed by ambulance on blue lights and sirens to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.”

West Midlands Police have been approached for comment. Roads were reportedly blocked at the time of the incident.
