Sandwell officers crackdown on vehicle crime and join Diwali celebrations and community events in week of policing
West Midlands Police officers have shared an update on this week's activity in Sandwell - from a crackdown on vehicle crime to attending community events.
Vehicle Crime
Sandwell Police have been tackling vehicle crime in the area this week.
One vehicle was stopped by Smethwick officers after it was being "driven suspiciously." The vehicle was found abandoned and has been seized for forensic examination.
A second vehicle was also stopped and the occupants were searched. Police found quantity of cannabis and the passenger was arrested for drugs possession.

Community Events
This week has been jam packed with community events - such as Diwali and school visits.
Police were seen out and about visiting places of worship for the festival of lights and also "various different venues to speak with people of different ages about policing which includes Tipton Toddlers Day Nursery, Gospel Oak School, and Tividale Community Primary School."
A spokesperson continued: "Officers set up a police surgery at a shop on Cape Hill to discuss local issues and also joined staff at Branhall Community Hub. The staff provide low cost food packages to the community.
"We joined the Black Country Bus Tour, which stopped off at West Bromwich, to speak to members of the public about women’s safety."
