Woman pedestrian dies in Smethwick road collision with a car
A woman pedestrian has died following a road collision in Smethwick last night (Thursday, August 28).
West Midlands Ambulance Service have said that a woman has tragically died following a collision in Smethwick, Sandwell, at around 9.26pm on Thursday.
Emergency services responded to the scene of Thimblemill Road to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car last night.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman, who was a pedestrian, who was found to be in a critical condition.
Despite receiving advanced trauma care and life support from responding ambulance teams, West Midlands Ambulance Service said that it became clear nothing could be done to save the woman, and she was confirmed deceased at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "Upon arrival, we found a woman who was the pedestrian in a critical condition. Ambulance staff delivered advanced trauma care and life support to her at the scene.
“Sadly, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save her, and she was confirmed deceased at the scene."
The driver of the vehicle was also assessed for injuries that aren't believed to be life-threatening before being conveyed to the Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital for further treatment.
The spokesperson added: "The driver of the car was assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
“He received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital for further assessment.”
West Midlands Police have been approached for more information.
