Bus operator named top performing firm in Sandwell
A bus operator has been named as the fastest growing company in a Black Country borough.
The best performing firms in Sandwell have been revealed, with Diamond Buses coming out on top after experiencing 43.8 per cent growth during 2017.
It is yet more good news for the firm, coming on the back of the announcement that its owner, Rotala, is behind a £1 million takeover of Stourbridge firm Hansons.
The council has revealed the top 50 index, revealing which companies are performing the best in terms of growth.
Manufacturing firm Corbetts Support Solutions was second on the list, while Harper Group Construction came third.
Sandwell Council leader Steve Eling said he believed UK’s turbulent economic and political circumstances are making trading tougher than usual, and that it was an important achievement for the companies which had made the top 50.
He said: “The success of Sandwell’s top 50 can only reflect hard work, great leadership, commitment and foresight.”
Transport and haulage contractor Sheldon Clayton Logistics is at number 43 in the index with a solid 3.8 per cent growth in turnover.
The West Bromwich company has been operating for 40 years, servicing the North Sea oil boom.
