Major road reopened in Stourbridge after two-vehicle crash

A collision between two cars in Stourbridge forced the temporary closure of one of the area’s main roads.

The crash happened at the junction of Norton Road and Carver Gardens in Stourbridge, and emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after 5pm on Sunday, March 1.

Traffic was blocked in both directions while police and paramedics dealt with the aftermath. No-one was seriously hurt in the incident, although one man was assessed by paramedics before being discharged at the scene.

Local authorities closed the road to allow recovery and investigation work to take place.

Motorists were advised to find alternative routes around the area while the closure was in place, with delays reported on nearby streets as vehicles were diverted.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: "Shortly after 5.10pm on Sunday 1 March, we responded to Norton Road, Stourbridge. 

"A fire engine from Stourbridge attended, arriving within three minutes of being mobilised.

"This was a collision between two cars at the junction of Norton Road and Carver Gardens. Both vehicles remained on all four wheels and were made safe by firefighters.

"Police colleagues attended this incident and arranged vehicle recovery.

"We left the scene at 5.45pm."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports on an RTC on Norton Road in Stourbridge at 5.40pm, yesterday, and sent an ambulance to the scene.

"On arrival, crews found a man, who they assessed before discharging him with self-care advice.

"There were no other patients requiring our assistance."
