Dudley Council has announced that Crystal Leisure Centre's indoor pool, in Stourbridge, will be closing from Monday, March 2, to make way for 'essential' maintenance works to the facility's boiler.

The works, which are expected to continue for four weeks, will help to regulate the venue's water and air temperature, as well as ensure the facility is more energy efficient.

Swimming sessions, including lessons and parties, will not run during the maintenance period. Dudley Council said that swimming lesson credits will not be used.

Aswell as swimming sessions and lessons, the softplay area will also close on weekdays from March 2 - however, all soft play parties that have already been booked will continue to run.

All other activities will continue to run as usual, and swimming lessons and soft play at Duncan Edwards and Halesowen leisure centres will continue as normal.

A Dudley Council spokesperson said: "We are improving our facilities. Essential maintenance will be taking place at Crystal Leisure Centre from Monday, March 2.

"During this time, the leisure pool and 25 metre pool will be closed for approximately four weeks while important work is carried out on the boiler, helping to improve water and air temperatures and ensure the centre is more energy efficient.

"Swimming sessions, including all lessons and parties, will not run during this time. Swimming credits will not be used.

"We apologise for any disruption to services while we carry out these important works."

The works are expected to take four weeks.
