Dudley MP praises council for 'quickly' replacing weathered Union Jack flag outside Stourbridge Town Hall
A Dudley MP has praised the council for taking speedy action to replace the Union Jack outside Stourbridge Town Hall.
Cat Eccles, who represents Stourbridge, claims she made a request to replace the old, weather-damaged flag on the mast last week and it was quickly honoured.
Taking to Facebook, she showed the striking before and after - from the faded remains of the Union Jack to the bright and bold new one.

In the post, which has gained more than 800 likes, the MP wrote: "Huge thanks to Dudley Council who responded quickly to my request to replace the flag flying above Stourbridge Town Hall.
"Last week I noticed the Black Country flag, which had been up for a couple of years, was showing signs of wear and tear, and put in a request to switch it for one in better condition.
"The council put up the Union flag within a couple of days, and the weather even improved with it! (And yes I have reported the buddleia growing out the brickwork!) Hope everyone has had a lovely sunny Bank Holiday."
Many locals took to the comments to praise the transformation. One wrote: "Well done Dudley Council," while another simply added: "Nice."
However, others suggested the council also add the Black Country flag to the mast. "I have no problem with it but can we not have the Black Country flag up there as well? Cheers," a resident suggested.
Dudley Council have been contacted for a comment.
