Yesterday's (Friday's) ceremony was organised by Sedgley Townswomen's Guild, which has donated a silhouette memorial which has been installed in the churchyard.
Karen Moore, of Sedgley Townswomen's Guild, said the village had a 'Tommy' silhouette, in recognition of soldiers who paid the ultimate price for the borough and country, for many years.
“As a women’s group, we also wanted to get female silhouettes to remember the astounding efforts and sacrifices that women made during wartime, and I am delighted to see them going on display this weekend.
"Placing this tribute in Sedgley will ensure that every Remembrance Day our daughters and granddaughters see themselves in our shared history," she said.
Miss Kumar said the statue stood as a lasting tribute to those women’s service and a symbol of gratitude for generations to come.

“For generations, women have served their country with courage, on the front lines of medicine, in factories, in intelligence, and through countless acts of support at home," she said.
"It’s time their contribution was properly recognised in our borough."
