Every ale, cider, gin and rum on sale at Sedgley beer festival, including alcohol free options

The casks are neatly lined up, and conditioned ready to go. The stage is set, the acts are primed . The only thing the organisers of Sedgley Charity Beer, Cider and Gin Festival are now waiting on are the punters.

About 1,500 people are expected to make their way through the doors of the village's Jubilee Scout Hut tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday, as the event is held for the 11th year.

The festival, which raises money for 1st Sedgley Scout Group as well a number of other charities, is expected to break the £100,000 barrier this year.

There will be a total of 73 drinks on offer this year, including 41 real ales, 14 ciders, 12 gins and four rums, plus two alcohol-free choices. 

There will also be live music from 10 artists across three stages during the event.

Festival committee chairman David Bough said: "Our unique charity festival just keeps going from strength to strength.

"The great ales, ciders, and superb live music create such a superb fun, community-friendly atmosphere. You're guaranteed to bump into familiar faces and raise a glass for charity."
