Watch: Acrobat leaps over Sedgley councillor as residents enjoy fun day in the town

It was Sedgley's turn to join in the Black Country Festival over the weekend with residents flocking to see the entertainment at this year's fete.

There was family friendly fun all afternoon yesterday (July 27) at Tenscore Playing Fields which was festooned with Black Country flags of all sizes.

Black Country Radio provided the stage for singers, bands and dancers to entertain visitors between 12pm and 4pm.

There were games and competitions including spinning plates and other fun fair classics while the market stalls did a brisk trade selling knick-knacks and other bargains.

And an acrobat wowed the crowd by leaping onto a trampoline and over brave Sedgley councillor Damian Corfield.

Councillor Corfield said: "We had a great afternoon at Sedgley Funday on Tenscore park on Sunday.

"It was great to chat to residents and staff who made it happen - and to get somersaulted over!"

The day came at the end of the month-long Black Country Festival which is in its 11th year and is the biggest yet.

Running throughout July it incorporates concerts, fundays, fetes and carnivals across the six towns and beyond.
