22 reasons why MP Mike Wood is angry about Royal Mail's service in his constituency
Black Country MP Mike Wood has kept a diary of problems with the mail service after being inundated with complaints from constituents.
While the problem has grown significantly in recent months, his log goes back to the start of 2023, proving that this is not just a recent problem.
The MP for Kingswinford and South Staffordshire - Dudley South before the boundary changes - says the delays cause real-world problems for people, from bills being paid late to missed medical appointments and legal letters being held up.
In a letter to David Gold, director of external affairs at Royal Mail, he outlined 22 separate complaints from constituents over the past three years.
Here are the dates of the complaints, along with the problems the late post has caused, starting from January 2023 and working forward:
1. January 18, 2023: Missing post in over a month, including bills and a new bank card.
2. October 18, 2023: Delay caused harassment form energy supplier as she hadn't received bills. Neighbour reported the same to her.
3. April 24, 2024: Reported the post as 'too slow' and 'very angry'.
4. June 20, 2024: Post is not being delivered.

6. May 30, 2025: NO post received for three-four weeks, then all arrive in a bundle. Other residents state (to constituent) that it took 12 days for a letter to arrive from Russells Hall - unclear if they missed appointment.
