Double Tops Darts, run by 29-year-old Ryan Caves and 26-year-old Lauren Flavell, has been given permission to convert the former Raw Pet Foods shop in Long Lane, Halesowen, into a small pub with a darts room.

However, Carl Mellor, head of planning at Dudley Council, issued a condition that it must close before midnight Monday to Saturday, and before 10pm on Sundays.

The unit, set back behind a layby, had previously been used by Dudley Council as a housing office.

The plans feature a main darts room, a small bar, a storage room and a toilet.

The premises will have a maximum capacity of 30 people, with two members of staff on duty in the week, and four staff working at the weekend.

An officer's report said there was parking for 10-12 in the layby in front of the premises, and the site was located on a bus route and within a 10-minute walk of Rowley Regis railway station.

The report said there had been no objections from residents.

Mr Mellor also said the bar should not open before midday, and restricted deliveries to between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday, with no deliveries permitted on Sundays or public holidays.

The bar will still be subject to a drinks licence.
