The advertisement, seeking a shift manager, suggests the American burger chain - famous for its classic Frosty desserts - is preparing to open a new outlet in the shopping centre in Brierley Hill, Dudley.

The listing seeks an individual to lead operations at a new Wendy’s outlet as the US fast-food giant seeks to expand its UK offering.

A fun, fast, friendly team player with a year of management experience, experience of leading people and the ability to lead and manage operations in a fast-paced environment is sought for the role, which offers benefits including free meals while working, discounts on days off and opportunities for career progression.

Wendy's re-entered the UK market in 2021, after a 20-year absence, and it currently has 46 restaurant locations across the country - with plans to open more than 150 new restaurants across the UK and surrounding countries by 2028.

The quick-service restaurant business is known for its popular Baconator - a double-patty with crispy Applewood smoked bacon, the half-pound Dave’s Double, spicy chicken sandwich and much-loved classic Frosty desserts. Its UK outlets also offer a range of items tailored to Brits, including the avocado chicken club, multiple variations of chicken wraps and chicken nuggets made from whole chicken breast fillet.

Wendy’s has said it sees huge potential in the UK market and it is accelerating the brand’s expansion in the UK, with the job advert saying: “In 1969, Dave Thomas brought his square burgers to the table and changed the game. In 2021 we landed in the UK to do the same; and we’re staying for good.

“Here at Wendy's, we like our food how we like our ideas: fresh. That's why we've introduced fun, flexible working. No zero-hour contracts. No nonsense.”

There has been no official announcement about plans to bring Wendy’s to Merry Hill at this stage.

Both the restaurant chain and Merry Hill have been contacted for comment.
