Will Henry, 31, and Brian McIntosh, 29, have been named by friends as the victims of what was the third shooting in the Black Country in three days.

The men, both from the Bartley Green area of Birmingham, were gunned down in a Range Rover parked at the Albion Works industrial estate in Moor Street, Brierley Hill, on Wednesday afternoon.

Mr Henry is the brother of West End Star Matt Henry, who was awarded an MBE in 2017 for his services to theatre. He has appeared in shows including Saturday Night Fever, Avenue Q and Kinky Boots in London, and reached the final of TV talent show The Voice in 2013.

Meanwhile a man arrested in Lancashire on suspicion of murder on Thursday morning remained in police custody on Friday afternoon.

A post-mortem was also due to take place on Friday.

Tributes have been paid to Mr Henry and Mr McIntosh, with family friend Simeon Daniel writing on Facebook: "I cant even put into words how devastated I feel.

"It's only just beginning to sink in, I went to see your mom earlier to pay my respects, it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Proud not to only call you a friend but a brother.

"You’ll go down in history bro. Bartley Green legend! Rest in paradise Big Will Henry. Rip Big Brian Mack."

Dana Browne added: "This is heartbreaking my thoughts are with their family and friends."

And Ceriann Patricia wrote: "RIP to those people who died, condolences to all family members, my heart breaks for both families."

The bodies of Mr Henry and Mr McIntosh were found at around 3.30pm on Wednesday but it is believed they were both shot at around 1pm.

More on this story:

The Albion Works estate has been cordoned off since the shootings, with the main entrance off Moor Street and an alleyway leading from Springfield Road both sealed off with police tape.

A blue police forensic tent had been put up at the back of the estate, which is next to another industrial park, a canal and a disused railway line.

The man police suspect of being the gunman is aged in his 30s and was arrested from a vehicle in Carnforth, Lancashire, at around 11.30am on Thursday.

West Midlands Police has not provided an update into the investigation since Detective Chief Inspector Jim Munro released a statement on Thursday evening.

He said: “This is a fast moving investigation, a real team effort involving officers who have worked around the clock since the discovery of the bodies to trace the person we believe is responsible.

“The arrest is a significant development but our enquiries continue and I would appeal to anyone with information about what’s happened, or anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard anything suspicious, to get in touch.”

The killings were the third shooting incident in the Black Country in three days, after shots were fired into a classroom at Wolverhampton College on Monday and a man was seriously injured in Cradley Heath on Tuesday night.

Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with either incident and that they are not believed to be linked.

The Cradley Heath victim remains in hospital in a serious condition, the spokesman confirmed.

Anyone with information about the double murder in Brierley Hill is urged to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting log number 3204 of September 30.

Alternatively, witnesses can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
