Commuters in Dudley have called for answers after the engine of a bus they were travelling on exploded, filling the vehicle with dangerous smoke.

Passengers of a bus in Dudley were forced to flee when the engine of the bus they were travelling on caught fire while travelling along Tiled House Lane in Brierley Hill, Dudley.

The incident, which involved a Diamond bus, was said to have taken place at around 3pm on Wednesday afternoon, with exclusive footage shared to their Express & Star showing the chaotic scene before and after the fire.

The video shows smoke rising from under the seats of the bus as passengers express their concerns, with another video showing flames licking through the heavy black cloud.

One mother, Liz Barltrop, said that her daughter was on the bus at around 3.15pm when the smoke was seen under the seats, and had repeatedly asked the driver to stop, but was instead told 'it's okay' and 'it's meant to do that'.
