Dudley care home closed down by inspectors could become supported living complex for 15 vulnerable adults
A former Black Country care home that was closed down by inspectors could be used to provide supported accommodation for vulnerable adults.
Wellington Care Assisted Living (WCA) has applied to Dudley Council for permission to convert the former Summerfield Care Home in Wellington Road into a complex of 15 flats for people with special care needs.

The company said it specialised in adults aged over 25 with learning disabilities, brain injuries, autism, physical or sensory impairments and dementia.
Summerfield Care Home has been lying empty since 2012, when it was closed by Dudley Council. Government inspectors had found 'unclean' commodes, mould in the showers, damaged furniture and flooring, and mattresses and armchairs that 'smelled offensive' and were 'stained with body fluids' during a visit.
All 38 elderly and dementia patients were moved to alternative accommodation.
WCA says it wants to convert the building into 15 flats that would allow its residents to live independent lives as far as possible, while still being able to receive on-site support where needed.
It said the property would be leased to a registered social landlord, which would sublet each flat to a tenant who had been referred by social services.
It said there would be a minimum of eight staff working during the day, and at least one member of staff on duty during the night.
"WCA will be a new purpose-built secure establishment with a gated entrance, gates are locked for extra security between the times of 6pm until 6.00am," it said.
"During this time the only way of access will be by an intercom system where staff can open the gates once they have established who is needing to gain access."
It said in addiition to the 15 flats, there would be communal rooms and assisted bathrooms.
"The aim is to provide successful and bespoke support for people with dementia, brain injury, physical and or learning disabilities aged over 25 years."
The proposals will now be considered by Dudley Council's planners.
