Paul Andrews, of developer Hush Properties, said each of the rooms had its own theme relating to the history of Dudley and its attractions.

The Garrison room relates to the story of the Peaky Blinders, and the use of the Black Country Living Museum for the filming of the hit television show.

The Dudley Chainmaking room tells the story of the famous trade, and the Dudley Zoo room charts the history of the attraction, founded by the Earl of Dudley in 1937.

Mr Andrews said the boutique hotel had been furnished to a very high standard, with the finishing touch being a name plaque hand-made by a specialist metal-casting company.

The Express & Star was shown around the hotel just days after 4,000 turned out for the official launch of the flagship Fun City venue by Black Country football legends Steve Bull and Bob Taylor.

Two-hundred lucky 'golden ticket' winners were the first to try out the leisure venue, which includes indoor cricket, an escape room, laser-tagging and a Duncan Edwards-themed football challenge.

Mr Andrews said the hotel was aimed at people who might be in town to visit Fun City, the Black Country Living Museum or Dudley Zoo.

He said people visiting the area for short breaks, or contractors working in Dudley were another target market. The hotel will not have its own restaurant, but people will be able to use the neighbouring Old Glass House bar which forms part of the development, centred on Stone Street Square.
