Everything you need to know as Dudley Zoo offers discounted tickets to benefit claimants

Dudley Zoo and Castle is giving Universal Credit claimants the chance to visit at a discounted price.

During the month of September, those in receipt of Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support and Jobseeker’s Allowance can buy an adult ticket to Dudley Zoo and Castle for £7 or £8 with a donation.

To qualify, the visitor must have received a Universal Credit payment in the last month and they may also be asked for photographic ID, including a passport or driving licence as well as a debit/credit card.

Visitors will also need to bring eligible proof with them to show with your ticket on arrival at the entrance. Discounted tickets must be purchased online.

Dudley Zoo website said:  "All tickets must be booked in advance. 

"There are a limited amount of tickets for each day, so if they are unavailable please try another date.

"You can only purchase a maximum of 6 tickets per household.

"Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

"Tickets are valid for entry from 10am and 12pm every day of the week throughout September.

"You are not required to enter the Zoo at the exact time on your ticket, but you can enter the zoo between the time stated on your tickets and before last admission at 2pm.

"The grounds close at 5.30pm."
