Air ambulance called to Upper Gornal after crash - major road closed
Four ambulances have been called to Upper Gornal after a crash forced police to close the A459 in both directions.
The A459 Kent Street is closed both ways at the junction with Hill Street after a collision this morning (August 6), with emergency services on the scene.
Four ambulances, three paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, a critical care paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford were called to the scene at 7.32am.

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7.32am to a road traffic collision at the junction of Highgate Street and Clarence Street in Upper Gornal, Dudley.
"Four ambulances, three paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene. More updates will follow when available.”
West Midlands Police said: "We are currently at the scene of a collision on Kent Street, Upper Gornal near to the junction of Spills Meadow.
"A cordon is in place while we conduct enquiries. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes."
The National Express West Midlands 1 bus has been diverted both ways via Jews Lane, Eve Lane, and Tipton Road.
