Walkers hot on trail of fundraising target in Dudley event
Walkers from across the country braved the heat over the weekend and took part in the annual Dudley Trail.
On Sunday nearly 1,600 people trekked the five routes of six, nine, 12, 20 and 28 miles for the 38th annual event – despite temperatures hitting 24 degrees.
People of all ages took part, gathering at the start line at Dudley Leisure Centre.
Those who completed the route were rewarded with a certificate of achievement.
This year also saw the introduction of a photo competition for both under 14s and adults – with a chance to win tickets to Himley Bonfire.
Images will be judged by the Dudley Mayor next week.
The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Dave Tyler, said: "What a fantastic day. The weather was perfect and everyone came ready to take on their particular challenge, either a personal goal or raising money for charity.
"I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. In particular, I want to say thank you to the Dudley Ramblers, the Stourbridge Rambling Group and also Action Heart for their help throughout the event."
