Girl hurt after being hit by car on Birmingham New Road

A teenage girl was hurt after being hit by a car on a busy road in the Black Country.

The girl, thought to be age between 15 and 17, suffered head and leg injuries after being hit near at the junction of Birmingham New Road and Priory Road in Dudley, near Aldi.

The Birmingham New Road remains closed between Priory Road and Tipton Road as a result.

The busy road was blocked as police and paramedics arrived at the scene at around 9.45am this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith said: "One ambulance was in attendance and a patient was on the Birmingham New Road.

"She was fully conscious and had leg and head injuries."

Meanwhile a five-vehicle crash has caused long delays on the M6 and completely closed a stretch of the motorway while an air ambulance landed at the scene.
