Huge Christmas tree made of 100,000 balloons being built in Sutton Coldfield - here's everything you need to know before the grand unveiling
A huge Christmas tree made entirely of balloons is set to be unveiled in Sutton Coldfield this weekend - here is everything you need to know before the event.
Work is now underway in Sutton Coldfield on a one-of-a-kind festive build: the UK’s first Balloon Christmas Tree, engineered from 100,000 biodegradable balloons and assembled inside a custom-designed snow globe.

It is estimated the tree itself will be around 18-foot tall and constructed of 65,000 balloons.
The remaining balloons will construct the presents and snow around the tree, which will be topped with a star sponsored by jeweller Steven Charles Quance, that also donated a diamond to the cause.
Specialist balloon artists from Balloon Colour Blending Ltd are already designing the internal frameworks, colour patterns, and structural supports needed to bring the giant tree to life.

Speaking to the Express & Star about the installation, balloon designer Naomi Spencer said: "It's all hands-on-deck! We are creating the UK's first balloon Christmas tree using 100,000 balloons raising funds for ten amazing charities.
"We've got a massive team - we've got engineers, we've got structural, we've got blowers, we've got a design team. It's all systems go!"

But here is everything you need to know before the grand unveiling:
