West Midlands school shuts due to 'ongoing incident' with reports of man with knife
Waseley Hills High School closed its doors today due to an 'ongoing incident'
A secondary school located in Rubery, Birmingham informed parents and pupils that the school closed its doors earlier today (Monday, March 23) due to an 'ongoing incident'.

There were reports that a man was walking around the school premises with a knife.
In a Facebook post, the school wrote: "Waseley Hills High School will remain closed today, parents and carers please check Arbor for more information."
Likewise, in an email sent to parents, Mr Preston of Waseley Hills High School said: “We have been advised by police that due to an ongoing incident we need to close the school - we’ll update as soon as possible.”
Many speculated on Facebook as to what the incident perhaps might be earlier in the day.
Samantha Simmonds wrote: "Husband drove up to take my son and there were police everywhere - 9 police cars, so something major. Hope all involved are OK."
Similarly, another user named KindKiwi1645 wrote: "Hopefully the school are looking after the children in a lockdown for those that may already be on site and not sending them home if there's an incident going on."
West Mercia Police have updated the Express & Star about the incident.
They said: "We received a call around 7.15am this morning (Monday 23 March) with a report of man with a knife walking into Waseley Hills High School in Rubery.
"Officers were deployed to the area, the man was located and it was established he had picked up a pair of scissors found outside the school, and it was clear that there was no malicious intent and he is part of the construction team working on the school grounds."
Waseley Hills High School is located on School Road, Rubery, Birmingham, B45 9EL.
