Weekend closure for major route through central Birmingham for crane lift operation
Snow Hill Queensway in Birmingham city centre is closed to traffic all weekend for a crane lifting operation.
From 7am today (March 14) until 7pm on Mothering Sunday the carriageway is closed between St Chad's Queensway and Colmore Circus Queensway, with diversions in place.
Traffic authority West Midlands Roads posted on X: "@WMRoads Snow Hill Queensway is closed between St Chads Queensway and Colmore Circus Queensway for a crane lift. There are diversion signs in place today and tomorrow."
In 2023 plans for 48-storey tower 2 Snow Hill Plaza got the green light.
