Boy 'seriously injured' after being hit by bus in Birmingham

A boy has been left 'seriously injured' following a crash with a bus in Birmingham this afternoon (February 13).

A cordon is currently in place at Warren Farm Road, at the junction of Dulwich Road in Kingstanding, after the child was hit by the double decker just after 8.35am this morning.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being transported to hospital with serious injuries. 

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an collision involving a bus and a pedestrian on Warren Farm Road in Kingstanding at 8.36am and sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the WMAS critical care car to the scene.

"On arrival, crews found a boy, the pedestrian, who they treated for serious injuries before conveying him to hospital."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to reports of a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian at around 8.30 this morning on Warren Farm Road. 

"A boy was taken to hospital with injuries, which are thankfully not believed to be life changing or life threatening.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision can contact us via 101 quoting log 856 of 13 February."

National Express West Midlands diverted their 33 bus via Kingstanding Road following the incident.
