Four fire engines and a hydraulic platform attended the scene at a semi detached property and are asking people to avoid the area if possible.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: "The fire is now extinguished but crews are damping down and making the building safe and the hydraulic platform unit will be present for some time so the road will be shut into the afternoon."
