A huge building fire that left one person in hospital was started accidentally, West Midlands Fire Service has confirmed this morning (Saturday, January 17).
The blaze on the fourth floor of a five-storey building in Constitution Hill in Hockley, Birmingham, broke out just before 7:30am on Friday.

Firefighters tackled the incident for more than eight hours and had successfully dampened the fire by about 3:50pm, before attending overnight.
Constitution Hill was closed in both directions due to electrical work taking place, but it has since reopened.
