Trains halted on major line out of Birmingham after track circuit failure
Train services have been left unable to run on a major line out of Birmingham after a track circuit failure caused services to be halted.
West Midlands Railway issued a message on social media just after 5pm to inform passengers of the issue and that services between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International would not run after a track inspection was carried out.
It also said that tickets would be accepted on National Express bus services.
A spokesman for West Midlands Railway said: "Due to a track inspection, there is no services between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International in both directions.
"Ticket acceptance has been arranged on the local National Express West Midlands buses."
