Buses and trams had been unable to access parts of the city around Colmore Row and Birmingham Cathedral due to a building fire shortly before 5pm on Monday, September 15.

West Midlands Metro services were operational again by 7pm, but Transport for West Midlands only announced the return of bus services to the area at 7.31am on Tuesday, September 16.

The cause of the fire has yet to be revealed, and West Midlands Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Fire Service have all been approached for comment.
