Traffic at a standstill on M42 on Friday afternoon after 'multi-vehicle collision'
A multi-vehicle collision has stopped traffic on the M42 northbound in the West Midlands.
National Highways: West Midlands tweeted that all traffic was at a standstill between Junctions 4 (the Monkspath Interchange) and 4a the (Catshill Interchange) where it meets the M5.
They are reporting 30-minute delays and four miles of congestion from Junction 3 for Portway Island.

A spokeperson for National Highways: West Midlands said: "Our officers are on scene working to clear the vehicles and release traffic ASAP."
