Lichfield vape shop forced to close for second time after illegal cigarettes, tobacco and imported food products seized
Police uncovered illegal cigarettes, hand-rolling tobacco and imported food products
A shop in Lichfield has been ordered to close for the second time this year after illegal cigarettes and tobacco were seized during a joint enforcement operation.
Officers from Lichfield District Council, Staffordshire County Council Trading Standards and Lichfield Police uncovered more than 2,200 illegal cigarettes, hand-rolling tobacco and imported food products that did not meet UK labelling requirements.
Cannock Magistrates' Court has granted a Closure Order.

This means that the shop, called ‘Vape Zone’, must close immediately for the maximum legal period of three months.
Lichfield District Council added: “Selling illegal tobacco puts public health at risk and is often linked to wider criminal activity.
“We will continue working with our partners to take action against businesses breaking the law.”
