Police have shared a rare glimpse at the work of their canine units ahead of their appearance at Crufts 2026.
The biggest annual dog show is set to return to Birmingham's NEC for the 35th year running today (March 5) until Sunday (March 8). Find out more about the event in our explainer here.
Police dogs from the local force actively take part in the event each year - with live demonstrations of their skills in the main arena.

Video footage from West Midlands Police has shared a rare glimpse at the work of the highly-trained furry crime fighters ahead of the show to give a glimpse at what could be on display.
It shows dogs in training and out in the field taking down suspects alongside their expert handlers. Watch it above.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We’re back at Crufts this year with our fantastic Dog Unit who will be taking part in the world's largest dog show.
"Our dogs and their handlers will be taking part in Crufts where we will have a stand to showcase the incredible work of our dogs, handlers, puppies and volunteers.

"Every year we put on live demonstrations in the main arena, each day and this year is no different.
"Our dog unit will be showcasing some of the world’s best police dogs and their amazing skills for fighting crime and protecting the public."
