Plea to remain vigilant when restrictions eased
Police and health chiefs in Wolverhampton have urged people to do everything they can to avoid a surge in Covid-19 as restrictions start to ease.
Public health boss John Denley and Superintendent Simon Inglis said there was "light at the end of tunnel" – but people should remain vigilant.
Superintendent Inglis said people must continue to follow the rules and guidance if they want the current imposed lockdown "to be the last".
Mr Denley added: "The virus hasn't gone away – and hundreds of people in Wolverhampton are still testing positive for Covid-19 every week.
"As the rules start to be relaxed, it is incredibly important that we carry on doing all we can to stop the virus from making a resurgence in the coming weeks."
