Coronavirus: Wolverhampton Council urges extreme caution by public
Wolverhampton residents are being urged to act with extreme caution as coronavirus lockdown restrictions begin to ease.
The city council has issued a notice to ask residents to continue practicing social distancing and provided a list of other recommendations.
These include staying at home as much as possible, limiting contact with other people, washing hands regularly and not going out if anyone in the household has coronavirus symptoms.
The notice comes as people in England are allowed to gather in groups of up to six from other households and reception, year one, year six and nursery children are allowed to go back to school.

Other changes to lockdown restrictions include people being allowed to visit outdoor retail spaces such as markets and vulnerable people being allowed to leave their homes as long as they maintain strict social distancing.
John Denley, Wolverhampton Council's director of public health, said this was a critical time in the fight against coronavirus and asked the public to keep to the social distancing guidance
He said: "Take advantage of the new measures which have been announced if you wish, but please make sure you refrain from organising or taking part in events and activities where social distancing will either be difficult or nigh on impossible.
“We've seen on the news over the weekend people cramming together at beauty spots, both locally and in other parts of the country, with very little social distancing taking place.
"The Government has said that it will not hesitate to reintroduce lockdown measures in places where the transmission rate increases again.
"We all have a responsibility to balance the risk between more social interaction and the risk of a resurgence of the virus."
