Rail services halted after person dies following medical emergency near Staffordshire railway line
Rail services were forced to halt after a person was found by emergency services near railway lines in Staffordshire.
West Midlands Ambulance Service and British Transport Police were called to reports of a medical emergency near Woodcock Lane in Burston on Wednesday evening.
The ambulance service said paramedics found a person, but also found they could not be saved, with the person being confirmed as dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a medical emergency near Woodcock Lane in Burston, Stafford at 7.11pm and sent an ambulance and paramedic officer to the scene.
"On arrival, crews found a patient but sadly, it quickly became clear they could not be saved and were confirmed dead at the scene."
A spokeswoman for British Transport Police: "We were called to an area of the line in Stone shortly after 7pm yesterday (Wednesday) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Officers attended along with paramedics but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances leading up to the incident."
Avanti West Coast said on social that there would be heavy travel disruption due to an emergency services incident between Lichfield Trent Valley and Stoke-on-Trent, with the rail group warning of delays to regular travel at 7.48pm on Wednesday, warning that all lines had become blocked between the two stations.
A spokesman for Avanti West Coast said: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Stoke-On-Trent and Lichfield Trent Valley, all lines are blocked.
"Trains running between these services may be delayed by up to 30 minutes, with disruption expected until 9.30pm.
"We're really sorry if this affects you and your journey today."
