The town centre was given a dose of 90s nostalgia as one of the most recognisable songs of the decade was played by Amelia Kolpa's aunt Charmaine Grace and her friend Nadine Hill throughout the town ahead of Amelia's eighth birthday.

Amelia, from Rowley Regis, has been in and out of hospital since the age of two and a half with neuroblastoma. The youngster decided she wanted to break a world record when asked what she wanted for her birthday - and has since had more than 250,000 cards sent to her.

But now, her story is inspiring locals to bust a move in the street!

Starting outside Blackheath Market at midday on Monday, the duo carried a large speaker around the market and into the street with "Macarena" playing on repeat, with Nadine also getting on a microphone to encourage people to dance.

It was the second of two viral dance events by the pair, following a walk around Oldbury, and saw people inside the market do the dance moves for the song.

After the market, the pair took the music out onto the High Street, walking past shops and encouraging people to dance, with a few people outside shops getting involved.

This also included staff and customers inside Artisan Espresso Bar, with everyone getting into the spirit of the occasion, Philip Eley Butchers and outside Admiral Casino on Halesowen Street.

Charmaine Grace said another big thank you to everyone who took part and said the big event would be taking place in Merry Hill on Tuesday.

She said: "We've done the Macarena in Oldbury and here in Blackheath and we'd like to thank everyone who has come along.
