Boy, 15, seriously injured after Wolverhampton hit and run as police look for driver
A teenager has been left seriously injured after a hit and run in Wolverhampton.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 4.09pm yesterday (Tuesday) to Trysull Road in Wolverhampton and sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic to the scene.
The service said the boy was treated for serious injuries, then taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found a boy, who was treated by medics for serious injuries, before being conveyed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital under emergency driving conditions”
Police set up a cordon at the scene and have confirmed that an investigation has begun into identifying the driver of the car, which the force said did not remain at the scene.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to reports of a collision on Trysull Road, Wolverhampton, at around 4.15pm yesterday (Tuesday), where a car hit a 15-year-old boy, and drove off.
"The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains.
"The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene, and enquiries are ongoing to identify them.
