Brave bankers ready to take on high-rise challenge in support of Wolverhampton domestic abuse support charity
10 brave members of a Wolverhampton bank are set to take on a 98ft abseil challenge in support of women and children affected by abuse.
The team members from NatWest bank will take on ‘Haven Heights’, The Haven Wolverhampton’s charity fundraiser, on Saturday, March 21 at the Greenhouse at the Custard Factory in Digbeth.
Members of the public are also invited to participate in the abseil to help raise funds so the charity can continue offering life-saving support services to help women and children recover from abuse, although spaces are limited, with only 50 available.
NatWest Wolverhampton is a supporter of The Haven Wolverhampton, as part of its efforts to give back to the local community.
It recently hosted women supported by The Haven Wolverhampton at free money literacy workshops via its Financial Foundations scheme, to support them into independent living and financial security.
It also offered community financial health checks, enabling women to access free reviews of finances, supporting them to understand which products or services could help them progress towards their financial goals.

The money literacy workshops have been popular, as it is found that in 95 per cent of domestic abuse cases the victim is also subjected to financial abuse, which often means those affected by abuse can be incredibly disadvantaged, further exacerbating the impact.
The bank is also running an in-branch charity tombola and information stall, to raise funds as well as signpost members of the public who may need help with domestic abuse or sexual violence.
Anna Pendlebury, Head of Fundraising and Engagement at The Haven Wolverhampton, said: “We are so pleased that NatWest has extended its support to braving our charity abseil, as well providing its Financial Foundations workshops and signposting in branch. The NatWest’s team’s commitment is testament to the incredible support we get from our local community.
“We know that the 98ft ‘Haven Heights’ abseil is more than the unforgettable adrenaline rush as it's about doing something brave in solidarity with women and children faced with unimaginable trauma.
"Our abseilers won’t just be doing something courageous but they’ll also be taking action that will make a lasting difference to those that we support.”

Olivia Mellor, Senior Relationship Manager at NatWest, said: “We are proud to stand alongside The Haven Wolverhampton in supporting women and children affected by abuse.
"Taking on the ‘Haven Heights’ abseil is a powerful way for our team to show solidarity and help raise vital funds for such an important cause.
“Through initiatives like our Financial Foundations workshops and in-branch support, we are committed to helping those impacted by abuse regain their independence and financial confidence.
"We hope our efforts inspire others in the community to get involved and make a difference.”
