'A great day to raise money for a special girl' - A kind-hearted Black Country bar is holding charity event for Amelia, 7, who is battling cancer

A kind-hearted Black Country bar is holding a charity event to support Amelia Kolpa who is battling cancer after she received thousands of birthday cards from bikers earlier this week

A charity day and auction will be held at Shepwell's, Bilston Lane, in Willenhall tomorrow (Sunday) from noon, with members of Amelia's family including her aunty, present.

The seven-year-old has received thousands of cards for her birthday this week after expressing a wish for to 'break the record' in numbers. Three trucks full of them were delivered to her on Thursday, supported by hundreds of kind hearted bikers who rode in convoy for support

Amelia was just two years old when she was first diagnosed with stage four high-risk neuroblastoma in September 2020, and has been in and out of hospital ever since. She is currently receiving palliative care.

Tomorrow will see events going on all day until late including  ace painting, mascots, hair braiding a pop up barbers, sweet stall and soft play/ball pit as well as live music from an Elvis impersonator and the Reggae Boys band.

A live auction will also be held, with everything that has been donated for it starting at £1.

 Laura Jones who is a friend of Amelia's family does a weekly auction at the venue and is helping organise the event.

She said; "It is going to be a great day to raise money for a very special and beautiful girl who is very deserving of all the cards and presents she received this week.

"Everything that has been donated from  gift cards, family day trips. hampers and bottles will be auctioned and it will go to Amelia and her family. Her aunty will be present and wants to say thank you to people personally for making Amelia's birthday so special, which was her wish."

Entry tomorrow is free but donation buckets will be placed around the venue from noon.
