Neko Health, which was co-founded by Ek and Hjalmar Nilsonne, operates on the belief that prevention is better than cure - empowering people with early detection - and it is set to open its fifth global health centre in Birmingham.

The company offers the Neko Body Scan - a £299 a preventive health check which maps millions of health data points on the body - inside and out.

In just a few minutes, it checks things like moles across the body, symptoms of metabolic syndrome and risk factors for stroke and heart attack, along with blood fats and blood sugar levels to assess pre-diabetes risk. It also checks for skin cancer and blood abnormalities.

The business, which has sites in London and Manchester, has already attracted a loyal following of members and strong demand, with more than 100,000 people on the waitlist for its scans.

The new Birmingham venture, which was registered with the Care Quality Commission in November, is based in Livery Street and is set to open at the end of the month.
