Compton Care is busy preparing for its ‘Treecycling’ scheme, which will see hundreds of Christmas trees collected and recycled in the new year in Wolverhampton and the surrounding area.

Tree collections will take place between January 9 to January 12 and the scheme is open to residents across all WV postcodes, plus DY3, WS2, 3, 6 and 10 in exchange for a donation that supports Compton Care’s work in the community.

Sally Woods, Community and Events Fundraiser at Compton Care said: “It’s nearly Treecycling time! We hope you’ve been enjoying your festivities, if you’ve got a spare five minutes over the holidays why not register your tree for Treecycling?

"Let us take the hassle out of disposing your tree, and your donation will help us to provide specialist care for local people and their families.”

Every year, the charity supports local people living with life limiting conditions through its range of specialist services, including clinical care on its Inpatient Unit.

It also supports patients out in the community, providing compassionate, expert care in the place they call home, while patients’ families also have access to the charity’s services and bereavement support.

Ms Woods said: “Thank you to everyone who has generously treecycled with us in the past.

"We would also like to say a big thank you to our Treecycling partners, JustHelping and Wolverhampton Council, and our friends at C&W Commercials and Wolverhampton Tree Services who generously volunteer their time and expertise to make the scheme possible.

“Register your tree today as it only takes a few minutes and then you can get back to enjoying those Christmas leftovers knowing you are supporting a local charity.”
