Family firm’s £2k hospital boost
An appeal to support grieving parents in the West Midlands has received a £2,000 boost from a family business.
Chiefs at Birmingham Women’s Hospital are looking to raise £3.5 million to launch the purpose-built Woodland House.
Families who have lost a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death, will be able to spend time together away from the hospital.
The Richardson Brothers Foundation – the charitable arm of the Richardson family business – has backed the appeal through the donation.
Martyn Richardson, from the Richardson Brothers Foundation, met with chamber president Steve Allen and chief executive Paul Faulkner to hand over the cheque.
Mr Richardson said: “As a business created here in the West Midlands with deep and enduring family values we are pleased to offer our support to the Women’s Hospital.”
